Buy a Brick Campaign fund latest update

Thank you to all the families below for their generous donations! Your support makes a huge difference.

To date R130 140.95 has been received by the fund. All donors will be eligible for tax relief in terms of the current legislation and will receive a section 18a tax certificate. Donations will also be suitably acknowledged on a role of honour, which will be on permanent display in our new hall. These will placed in categories; (bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond).

This fund will not be simply absorbed into capital costs but rather used for identified projects so that donors will be aware of where their money has been invested. We have bought a baby grand piano, and a beautifully restored ‘Public Works Department’ clock originally manufactured in 1945. We are also looking at purchasing a new lectern, school crest, crucifix, piano dust cover and seating for the hall.

The ‘Buy a Brick Campaign’ will continue up until the hall has been completed and furnished. Please visit our gallery for the latest photos:

Primary School

Foundation Phase Soiree:  HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

This week we enjoyed a celebration of music, song and dance presented by our Grade 1, Grade 2 and 3 girls. Through their songs the girls reminded us all of what the proverb Home is where the Heart is really means and we all enjoyed hearing about how important super moms,  builder dads, friendly neighbours, delicious food, grandpas’ parties and having tea with grandmas are in turning a house into a home.

Thank you to Mrs Allan, our Foundation Phase teachers and parents for all the time and care they put into preparing our girls for these wonderful and entertaining performances.

Love begins by taking care of the closest ones – the ones at home. (Mother Teresa)

Johannesburg Mini Council Fellowship Dinner

On Thursday, 2 October some of our ACS Grade 6 girls attended the Johannesburg Mini Council Fellowship Dinner as Prospective 2014 / 2015 Councillors.  This year Amy Weinerlein and Chiara Bonanni represented ASC on The Johannesburg Mini Council.  Both girls held management positions.

Chiara was elected secretary of the Welfare Committee and Amy was elected Mini Mayor.  We would like to congratulate Amy on the outstanding address she delivered at the Fellowship Dinner.  We are very proud of both Amy and Chiara who have had a very busy and pressured year and have been excellent ambassadors for our school.

Congratulations

Layla El Lakkis Participated in a CMATHS South Africa Challenge on 4 October 2014 and was awarded a winning Champion of Champions certificate.
