RELIGION

Jesus said to his disciples:
"This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.

A very big thank-you to all our parents and girls who have been so generous for our “Catholic School Week Can Collection”. Through service, our girls learn empathy, kindness and respect, and the ability to practice important values which will help them to become positive, responsible adults.

LET THE CHILDREN SING

On Monday 20 May the Junior Primary Choir sang at the ‘Let the Children Sing’ choir festival at St John’s College. The choir sang ‘Part of my world’ from Disney’s The Little Mermaid and ‘The Jazzy Muffin Man’, a song all about cake! The choir then joined up with choirs from St Benedict’s Junior Preparatory, St John’s Junior Preparatory and Masibambane to sing ‘Me Oh My (what a wonderful world)’ and ‘Meadowlands’. The girls had a wonderful time and sang so beautifully. Big thanks go to Miss Mbeya and Mr Loock for teaching the girls to sing so well, and to Ms Faulha, Mrs Sheerin and Mrs Lloyd for accompanying the choir to the festival.

ALUMNI

Alumni, we want to hear from you.

We will be running a profile post and testimonial of a past pupil every week in our newsletter as well as Facebook and Twitter so please send us your info.
Our alumni serve a very important role within our community and our school.
We would like to know what our former pupils go on to do after they leave Assumption Convent School. Where our Alumni are, what they are doing, who they’ve become, and how Assumption Convent School helped prepare them for university, work and life.
The Alumni community is a fantastic network group where memories are shared and where you can reconnect with old friends.
Please share a few memories of what Assumption Convent meant to you (200 words or less). Please also e-mail a recent photo of yourself.
This year we will have a section dedicated to our Alumni in our annual school magazine.
Please send photos and share your news with us via email. Please send us updated contact details, especially email addresses, name changes etc.
Please send all correspondence to: marketing@assumptionconvent.co.za

Hoping to hear from you soon.
