ACADEMICS
ENGLISH CLASSES

We are delighted with the results thus far presented by the progress report received on the 16th of July!
Our girls have improved dramatically and it shows in their general school achievements at school.
More specifically, though, the Assumption girls have improved their reading speeds:
- Gr7s from 134 words per minute to 195 words per minute;
- Gr8s from 122 words per minute to 204 words per minute;
And they have improved their overall comprehension of texts:
- Gr7s from an average of 58% to 67%.
- Gr8s from an average of 57% to 72%.
We will keep our noses to the grindstone until October when we shall complete the 20 modules of the lab-on-line programme. Mr Workman and Mrs Zambon (principals of the high and primary schools respectively) have both expressed their joy at having the programme be such a success for our grade 7 and 8 girls!

The Alumni community is a fantastic network group where memories are shared and where you can reconnect with old friends.

SALLY-ANN WANG - MATRIC 2010

I completed school at Assumption Convent School n 2010. I am currently studying for my Masters in Marketing at Wits. Assumption Convent taught me how to become an independent, confident, and humble person. I joined Assumption when I finished Grade 10 in China. At that time, I was battling to acclimatized to a totally new environment. However, I had a wonderful learning experience at Assumption, and have many warm memories of my time there. The Teachers were more like my family, they encouraged and helped me in different aspects. Assumption gave me an excellent education with wonderful facilities, diverse cultures, and interesting after school clubs. I am truly grateful to be part of the Assumption Convent Alumni.
