HOCKEY - PULLEN TROPHY

On Saturday 22 July the 1st Hockey Squad took part in the group stage of the Pullen Trophy. This is the girls equivalent  to the Boden and Aitken trophies that the u16 and 1st  boys teams play for each year.
We were fortunate enough to be invited this year and entered a 1st team. We were drawn in group B with St Stithians, Fourways HS, Norhcliff HS, Trinity House and HS Linden.
We trekked to St Stithians for the first game at 7:45am against the hosts. We were all excited and nervous at the same time because we did not know what to expect for the day against such strong opposition.
We played 5 matches of 25 minutes each(one way). We lost 4 and drew 1. Fortunately our defence was good and we finished 5/6 in the group because of a superior goal difference. This means that we did not concede as many goals as HS Linden.

Results:
St Stithians - L 1-0
Fourways - L 3-0
Northcliff - L 2-0
Linden - D 1-1
Trinity - L 2-0

Thank you to the parents and Mr Workman for their support.  Well done to all the players involved and good luck for the play-off positions on Saturday.

Mr  Lydall

MASTERS' SURVEY

Thank you to those who took part in the pilot study for my fiancee -Justine’s Masters’ study. Your help was very gratefully received. She has now moved on to collecting the data required for her study and has released the questionnaire on SurveyMonkey. We would be extremely grateful if anyone who has changed their cell phone supplier would take the time to fill in the online questionnaire (link at the bottom). While the survey says ‘within one year’, we are not unduly worried if this parameter is stretched backwards.  Please also pass on the link to anyone who you think may have changed. Justine must find 400 people!
