Finalising Class Numbers for 2015
We have been inundated with applications this year, we now only have a few places available with the exception of Grade 8 2015 which is full. Should you wish to enrol your daughter, we suggest you do so as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

IEB One Research Task Project - 2013
Kirsten Whitlock's research project has been selected as one of the top research projects in South Africa. It is going to be used as an examplar in an IEB workshop for teachers later this year. She did the Geography topic researching the effects of acid mine drainage on the West Rand.
This is a great honour and I am very proud of Kirsten's outstanding achievement.

Talk
On Monday 17 March, Martin Brown, the owner of Radical Mobility came to our school to inspire our Grade 6 and Grade 8 girls. As a quadriplegic himself, Martin wanted to design an “off-road” wheelchair which can cover rough terrain at fairly high speeds. Every "vehicle" is custom designed by Martin to suit the needs of each customer. Martin’s ability to rise above his difficulties and become an extraordinary entrepreneur inspired us to dream for what we never would have believed possible in our own lives.

Civvies - St. Patrick's Day - 17 March 2014
On Monday 17 March, we had a civvies day to raise funds for our upcoming netball tour. The girls were great sports by wearing green on the day to represent St. Patricks Day. We would like to thank everyone who wore civvies on the day and who also supported us at our cake and candy. Many Thanks.

Pilgrim Cross Handover to Sacred Heart
After having the Grade 11 Pilgrim Cross for a week and adding our Assumption Convent logo to it, a group of about 20 Grade 11 girls handed it over to Sacred Heart College on Monday 17 March. The girls sang a few songs (very beautifully!) and said a prayer and reading for the pupils at Sacred Heart. The ceremony was followed by snacks and socialising. It was all very special and the girls made Assumption proud!

It’s raining eggs!
Over the past three weeks the primary school has brought in over 10 000 marshmallow eggs! The response has been overwhelming. The mini council will be distributing these eggs to less fortunate children all over Johannesburg in the next week. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and remember that Tuesday 25 March is the last day that we will be collecting eggs.
