Each year Assumption Convent School offers a limited number of Open Academic Scholarships to female students entering Grade 8. The scholarship is open to Grade 7 girls, including ACS students, who excel academically and are entering Grade 8. Assumption Convent School would like to offer current Grade 7 girls an opportunity to apply for this prestigious scholarship for 2027.

- Obtain a copy of your daughter's grade 6 report to include with your application.
- Have you diarised Saturday, 7 February 2026 for the scholarship information session? It will be held from 09h30 to 09h45 in the School Hall.
- Diarise the scholarship exam date It is on Saturday, 14 February 2026 from 09h00 to 12h00.
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION AND CRITERIA
A scholarship info session will be held on our Open Day on Saturday, 7 February 2026 in our hall at 09h30. Our School Principal, Mrs Weinerlein will discuss the scholarship and answer any questions. The scholarship exams will be written on Saturday, 14 February 2026.

- Assumption Convent School is offering two or more scholarships.
- Whilst it is the intention to award two or more scholarships, the selection committee reserves the right not to award scholarships if the candidates do not meet the required criteria. The selection Committee’s decision is final.
- To apply, a detailed end of Grade 6 report will be required, please email this report and application form to marketing@assumptionconvent.co.za.
- Applications close on 10 February 2026 and no late entries will be accepted after this date.
- Candidates will write a one hour English and a one hour Mathematics examination on the prescribed date.
- Provision will not be made for the examinations to be conducted on an alternative day.
- Each scholarship received will cover 50% of the school fees, excluding the levies and textbooks.
- The scholarship is open to students from Assumption Primary School as well as other primary schools.
- The Scholarship Examinations will take place on Saturday, 14 February 2026 and will commence promptly at 09h00, exams should be concluded by 12h00.
- Successful candidates will be selected according to their academic results as well as sporting and cultural achievements.
- This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the School Principal, acting in consultation with the Scholarship Committee based on the outcome of the examination results.
- The applicant and at least one parent should be South African citizens or have permanent residence. Assumption Convent School reserves the right to request proof of these documents.
- A character reference from the candidates current school will be required, should the candidate be offered a scholarship.
- The final process will involve an interview with the School Principal from Assumption Convent School, should the candidate be offered a scholarship.
- The decisions of the School Principal and the Scholarship Committee in awarding this scholarship will be final and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
- Mrs Weinerlein, the School Principal, will notify the winners, telephonically and all candidates will receive an e-mail informing them of the successful candidates.
- No correspondence will be entered into regarding the results of the examinations.
- Scholarships will commence at the beginning of the 2027 Grade 8 academic year up until Grade 12 based on annual review.
- The candidate must adhere to the School’s code of conduct.
- To retain the scholarship, the pupil will be assessed annually on her academic performance, her level of commitment to the school including extra mural activities and behaviour.
- This award may be forfeited in consequence of unsatisfactory work or conduct, as determined by the School Principal, acting in consultation with the Scholarship Committee.
- This award may be withdrawn owing to non-payment of school fees.
- Registration will take place from 08h15 to 08h45 on 14 February 2026 at Assumption Convent School.
- Examination starts promptly at 09h00.
- No late comers will be allowed to write the exams.
- No cell phones are allowed in the exams.
- No smart watches are allowed in the exams.
- No calculators are allowed in the exams.
- Students are to wear their full school uniform.
- Students are to bring their own stationery (pen, pencil, eraser and ruler).
- Examinations consists of a one hour Mathematics and one hour English paper.
