The Assumption Convent School Aftercare is a non-profit facility that provides a very necessary service for children who need to remain at school in the afternoons. Currently we have about 100 children.
Mrs Dolly Reddy, Mrs Wendy May, Mrs Elaine Moeketsi, Ms Margaret Mseteka, Mrs Pearson and Ms Duduzile Hadebe are available from 13:00 to 17:30 each afternoon to care for the children and supervise homework. Children from Grade 00 to 7 are welcome.
Aftercare operates from after school until 17:00. We ask that children are collected by no later than 17:30.
The 2012 Aftercare Fees
- Pre-grade - R345 per month
- Grade 1 to 7 - R550 per month (R460 per month for a second child)
- Daily Rate: R35
Please note that fees are paid over 9 MONTHS (end January to end September) and are payable together with their school fees. R550 divided by 22 days = R25.00 per day.
Meals at Aftercare
Aftercare children may bring a packed lunch to school, or make use of the canteen facility. (additional costs are detailed below). Aftercare will provide fruit/biscuits and a cool drink in mid-afternoon, with ice-cream on Fridays.
If your child requires lunch at Aftercare, parents are requested to pay in advance for the term at R15 a day. Alternatively your daughter can pay Sue at the Canteen on the days she wishes to have lunch at a cost of R18 per meal. Have a look at meals offered at aftercare.
